Members – General Description & Testimonials

Our members come from many backgrounds, abilities, ages and experience but all share a love of learning and a joy in singing.

Here is what our members have to say:

“The Joyful Noise Choir is a joy-filled experience for me virtually every Monday. I joined for the same reason that I began to paint years ago – I just wanted to try. Glad I did. We are learning how to breathe, how to listen, how to find our voices, how to make music. Eva brings her many gifts to the task of helping us to sing together – in more than one language – and to teaching us the fundamentals of music. She is remarkable and we are joyful!”

“I lost my joy when our daughter (48 years young) died after a lengthy illness. Her best friend, from childhood on, brought me to “Joyful Noise”. Here I found joy again and, I can celebrate life with the choir every week. The music, the singing, Eva, Bob, the choir members have helped me heal. I guess you could say I have found my voice…..ME! I love this choir and everything it represents which is wrapped up in its name ‘Joyful Noise’.”

“Singing in A Joyful Noise is a workout for the soul.”

“…I’ve met people who have taken part in “A Joyful Noise” and it has truly changed their lives. I honestly think you are healing the cosmos in a small but important way.”

“I love Eva’s passion for music – it rubs off on me. I love her gentle, kind way of showing us how to improve the sounds we make. She makes learning fun. I need to learn to match tones and she never ever singles me out and asks me to do what I cannot – she simply allows me to follow along allowing improvement to take as long as it takes. It is such a delight to be part of the group voice!”

“I want to thank Eva and the rest of the choir for becoming a very important part of my life. I have had a rough time in my own life for the past 4 years and Monday nights have gone a long way in helping me to heal. I knew it was helping but I didn’t realize how much until just after the May 23rd performance. My daughter came up to me and threw her arms around me. “Mom”, she said – “You look so HAPPY!”
That’s what singing and getting to know some of these amazing people has done for me. Thanks.”

“I’ve sung in many places, many choirs, in many “genres” and voicings – but this is the first choral experience where there is trust, acceptance, joy and challenges for all levels of singers.”
